Queer Stories

This page is to showcase books that celebrate all other queer identities in the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. These will be stories where the main character identifies as queer and/or there is a queer-oriented plot. Examples include Lesbian stories, Transgender main characters, and nonbinary main characters.

When I add new books to this page, I will add them to the top of the list to make it easier for you to spot them. Also, please let me know if you have any recommendations that are not on this list! I am always looking to grow my collection.

Unrelenting (The Grigori Cycle) by Jessi Honard and Marie Parks (My Review)

This story is the first book in a supernatural series. It features asexual characters and then characters who are either bisexual or pansexual. I quite enjoyed the story and the author was even willing to answer my questions after I read it! As always, links are below.

Book cover for 'Luna' by Julie Anne Peters featuring a close-up of a person's shoulder with a yellow butterfly perched on it, and the person's face partially visible. The cover includes the text 'Everything is about to change' and 'National Book Award Finalist'.

Luna by Julie Anne Peters

I read this book a long time ago. It is the story of Liam, who lives authentically as a transfemale by the name of Luna at night. While she isn’t the narrator, the story of her struggles is told through the eyes of her sister. Unfortunately, I just saw that the author passed away in 2023.

The House You Pass on the Way by Jacqueline Woodson

I picked up this book as a quick read for my reading challenge. To my surprise, this book turned out to be a coming of age story for a lesbian girl. She struggles through her first crush and coming to terms with friendships and school challenges.
